On August 27, Vice Consul General of China in Penang Ding Qiao attended the opening ceremony of the University of Hong Kong Corporates’ Going Global Program. Also present were more than 30 peoples including Tan Sri Dr. Koh Tsu Koon, Chairman of Board of Governors of Wawasan Open University; Tan Sri Andrew Sheng Len Tao, famous economist; Mr. Tang Heiwai, Associate Vice-President of the University of Hong Kong; and other trainees.

Ding stated that, Penang boasts a superior geographical location and a confluence of diverse civilizations. Its manufacturing sector, represented by semiconductor packaging and testing, and its service industry, exemplified by medical tourism, have placed Penang's economy in a leading position in Malaysia. She expressed the hope that the participants would engage in in-depth exchanges with renowned Malaysian scholars and entrepreneurs, actively explore investment and business opportunities, and contribute to promoting economic and cultural cooperation between China and Malaysia.
