On April 14, Chinese Consul General in Penang Zhou Youbin attended the launching and promotion ceremony of the "Penang-Guangzhou: A Tale of Two Cities, One Flavor" project. The event was jointly organized by Kwong Wah Yit Poh and the Guangzhou Self-Media Association. Also present were Deputy Chairman of Tourism Malaysia Dato' Yeoh Soon Hin, Penang State EXCO YB Wong Hon Wai, General Manager of Kwong Wah Yit Poh Dato' Lee Hin Chan, and Secretary-General of the Guangzhou Self-Media Association Ms. Wu Xiaomin, along with several prominent foodie influencers and content creators.

Consul General Zhou emphasized the profound culinary ties between Penang and Guangzhou. He noted that the heritage and innovation of Cantonese cuisine in Penang serve as a reflection of the enduring friendship between China and Malaysia. He expressed his hope that both cities would leverage cuisine as a bridge to deepen cooperation in culture and tourism, and people of both regions can experience the unique culinary charms and create lasting memories through the "A Tale of Two Cities, One Flavor" project.
