On December 17, Chinese Consul General in Penang Zhou Youbin met with Mr. Rusdi bin Yahya, Deputy State Secretary (Development) of Perlis and Deputy Chairman of the Perlis State Disaster Management Committee.

Consul General Zhou expressed sincere sympathy to the people affected by the flood in Perlis, and hoped they canan overcome the present difficulties and resume normal life and work soon under the leadership of Perlis State government. The Consulate General is ready to join hands with the Perlis government  to promote friendly cooperation across various fields between provinces and cities in China and Perlis. Mr. Rusdi extended heartfelt appreciation for the donation by the Consulate General , and hoped to strengthen cooperation with Chinese side to facilitate more Chinese enterprises to develop business in Perlis.

Consul General Zhou also attended the Donation Ceremony of Flood Relief Supplies with YB Gan Ay Ling, Member of the Perlis State Legislative Assembly for Indera Kayangan and Dato Johari bin Mohd Darus, Honorary Secretary of Tuanku Syed Putra Perlis. Around 1000 local residents affected by the flood participated in the event.
