On January 17, Chinese Consul General in Penang Zhou Youbin attended the lighting-up ceremony of 2026 Penang Chinese New Year Celebration (Miao Hui), joined by Chief Minister of Penang YAB Chow Kon Yeow, Minister of Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development YB Steven Sim Chee Keong, Deputy Minister of Women, Family and Community Development YB Lim Hui Ying, Deputy Chairman of Tourism Malaysia Dato’ Yeoh Soon Hin and Chairman of Penang Chinese Clan Council Mr. Ho Swee Choon, together with representatives from various sectors of community and the public.
